NEWTON'S DISC 2014
A Newton disc, discovered by Isaac Newton, is a disc with segments in rainbow colours. When the disc is rotated, the colors fade to white; In this way Isaac Newton demonstrated that white light is a combination of the seven different colours found in a rainbow.
Our students have created their own Newton's Disc, using cheap materials, such as an old CD, marbles, paper, colour pencils and glue.
They realized that the addition of all Rainbow colours gave them a surprising result= White.
